IELTS Test Format:
The IELTS test is to assess your abilities in listening, speaking, reading and writing skills in English. There are two types of IELTS test. IELTS Academic and IELTS General training. The only difference between the two is the Reading and Writing test. The subject matter of these two is different for each type whereas, Listening and Speaking are the same. 3 tests among the four are completed on the same day without any breaks between them. Only Speaking test is taken by other people and is not online. However, even this test is completed either before or after the other tests. Listening test is for 30mins, Reading and Writing is for 60mins. Reading and writing test differs from the type of test to be taken, either Academic or General. The subject matter is different and so do the questions differ. Speaking test last for maximum 15mins where the examiner will first ask you general questions first, then you will have to speak on a topic to be choose by you for 2mins and then questions would be asked on the topic you spoke.The total test time is 2 hours and 45 minutes.
IELTS Exam Fee and How to Book a Slot:
The IELTS test fee is QAR 950. There should be a checklist done before going further in the booking process. You have to make sure which type of IELTS you are going to prepare for, whether it is an academic of general test. Identity document is needed for booking your test slot. Valid passport, nationality proof is needed and to be carried on the test day also along with the photo id taken by the IELTS administrative staff on their test day. Means of payment should be ready while making payment for the test and after booking make sure you review the instructions given and follow it the way it has to be done to avoid any cancellation of appearing for the IELTS Test.
Booking a slot is not a big deal. You can either book a slot from IELTS British Council website or IELTS Test Centers. They give you all the information regarding test dates, application forms, payments and few instructions.

Q. What if I am away or sick on the day of my test?
A. If you are away or sick on the day of your test, the full amount of the fee paid will be lost and is not refunded. However, if a medical report is submitted within the timeline given then minimal charges will be returned and not the full amount.
Q. What if I want to cancel or postpone my test?
A. Kindly contact the test centre where you have booked a slot for further procedure to cancel your test. Unless you have a medical report to submit and depending on the time you have cancelled or postponed your test date, the refund will be paid. Usually 25% of the fee will be deducted as the local administrative charges.
Q. Can I take all the part of the test on the same day?
A. Only Speaking will be taken before or after the other 3 tests, and Listening, Reading and Writing will be conducted on the same day without any break.
