IELTS Test Format:
The IELTS test is to assess your abilities in listening, speaking, reading and writing skills in English.
There are two types of IELTS test: 1) IELTS Academic, 2) IELTS General training. The only difference between the two is the Reading and Writing test.
The subject matter of these two is different for each type whereas, Listening and Speaking are the same. 3 tests among the four are completed on the same day without any breaks between them. Only Speaking test is taken by other people and is not online.
However, even this test is completed either before or after the other tests.
The listening test is for 30mins, Reading and Writing is for 60mins.
Reading and writing test differs from the type of test to be taken, either Academic or General. The subject matter is different and so do the questions differ. Speaking test last for maximum 15mins where the examiner will first ask you general questions first, then you will have to speak on a topic to be chosen by you for 2mins and then questions would be asked on the topic you spoke.
The total test time is 2 hours and 45 minutes.
